Barcelona • A Conscious City Guide

Barcelona city guide.jpg

Now this isn’t your typical Barcelona tourist guide. This is collection of my favorite spots in town. If you’re into plant based eating, magical teahouses, and herbal infusion making then this guide most certainly will resonate with you. This is, however, for anyone who’s looking to hop on a road less traveled and discover some hidden gems that are most likely aren’t in your typical guide book.

Barcelona has a special place in my heart. I’ve been here off and on for 14 years. As I create space to welcome my next adventure, I’m reminded of all the incredible places and spaces this magical city has to offer. This city has been a catalyst for many incredible changes, most notably my healing journey. If you’re familiar with astrogeography, Barcelona is on my Pluto line which means it’s a place of rebirth and transformation. If you know, than you know. I hope you enjoy these places as much as I have.

Nourish

The Green Spot The vegan pizza is one of the best things I’ve ever had. If the food doesn’t have you coming back then the interior will.

Rasoterra Incredibly tasty menu that changes seasonally with a super cozy interior. You don’t have to be plant based to enjoy their food.

Little Fern I might be biased since my best friends own it but it truly is the best brunch spot in town. Everything is amazing, especially the corn fritters.

L’Hortet Their buffet is so tasty and make sure you order the tiramisu.

Teresa’s Lots of tasty plant based meals and treats. Their kale chips are on point.

Mosquito No trip to Barcelona is complete without a stop at Mosquito’s. Everyone I bring here says it’s one of their favorites. Their veggie dumplings will have you coming back.

Petit Brot For your raw food, fresh juice and smoothie needs.

Yellow Bakery Best bakery I’ve ever been to. Anywhere.

Caj Chai. Oh this is the greatest teahouse, ever!  They carry an incredible selection and also offer a variety of tea ceremonies and workshops. Their Ayurvedic blends are some of my favorite, most notably the Vata blend.

Aire Baths

Relax

Kiromasaje The deep tissue is my go to. Tucked away in the Borne it’s a must if you’ve been on your feet all day and need to unwind

AIRE Never had a chance to make it here and I wish I did.

Aiguestortes One of my favorite places on this planet. About a 4 hour drive from Barcelona. The hikes in this national park will take your breath away. A great escape if you’re in need of some time in nature and love to play in the mountains. I love to stay here when I visit.

Cactus Garden If you share my love for cacti, then this place is a must. Located on Montjuic it also has an incredible view of the city and beaches.

Jardin Joan Maragall Only open on Saturdays and Sundays, this garden is truly magical. Located on Montjuic, this tranquil setting will make you forget you’re in the city. Bring a blanket and bask in the sun. My favorite thing to do on weekends.

Shop

Clay I just want to move in. If straw baskets and ceramics are your thing.

Herbalists Shops This city has no shortage of them. This particular location has an incredibly selection of natural product, herbs and wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable herbalists to help you.

The Green Farmers I’m still surprised how few organic produce shops there are in the city. This is the spot to get fresh, quality locally grown organic produce. They also carry lots of bulk goods like beans, flours like almond and coconut, herbs, and spices. They also deliver are very reasonably priced.

The Living Food Of the top health food stores in town. They carry a wonderful selection of supplements, superfoods, skincare products AND they make their own nut based cheeses, and they’re amazing.

Ferment 9 For all your quality fermented needs, this is THE place. By far the best kombuchas, kefirs, sauerkrauts and so much more. One of my very favorite places.

Ibiza Store Not many jewelry stores carry what I actually like, but this place does. Probably the smallest store in the town and filled to the brim with a wide selection of silver. It’s what you’d imagine you’d find in Ibiza at the incredible markets.

Minerals and Gemstones This location has an incredible selection of minerals and gemstones of all sizes. They also carry gua sha tools. If this if your thing, you’ll want to spend hours here.
