Yoga Poses For Breast Health
We all know the importance of moving our bodies and the impact it has on our health. But let’s face it, life happens, we get busy and it’s easy to start neglecting our exercise routines no matter how good they make us feel. I personally find motivating in learning Why certain exercises, poses, activities are beneficial. It also helps me tailor my routines depending on how I’m feeling and what issues might arise. I find doing the simplest things on a consistent basis provides the best results.
Certain yoga poses have specific benefits for breast health. They help to open up the chest, promote vascular and lymphatic circulation, are calming and cooling to breast tissue, increase overall relaxation and immunity function, improve detoxification and oxygenation, and help us to connect to ourselves and tune in to our energetic heart center (chakra), also known in Ayurveda as the seat of wisdom.
Sitting Poses
Sitting poses are wonderful for strengthening the spine which in turn support the breasts. They also tone and support the internal reproductive organs. Adding ‘twisting’ poses is a great way to help balance the endocrine system and helps detoxification. The twisting action squeezes the organs thereby releasing toxins, improving lymph flow and increasing fresh blood flow once the twisting action is released. It also decompresses and releases the lower back as well as improves liver function.

Standing Poses
Standing poses have innumerable benefits. They create space in the torso and stretch the chest, arms and shoulder muscles which supports healthy lymphatic circulation and drainage. Fluid congestion in the chest area will lead to inflammation, pain and tenderness. Any jumping movements that cause the breasts to move will support healthy lymph flow. Standing poses will improve posture, relieve breast tenderness, tone breast tissue, mobilize stiff shoulders, etc…

They also help to calm the mind, relieve anxiety. Forward bends poses increase circulation in and around the breasts and armpits band help to relieve any discomfort in the neck, upper back, and shoulders. They also aid digestion and improve liver and spleen function.
