Herbal Series • Chickweed (Stellaria Media)
“Chickweed is a cool helper when the situation is hot.” Susun Weed
If you read my post on violet than you know that I discovered this herb during a healing session with Chloe Garcia Ponce last October in NYC. Well, I also discovered chickweed as it was another one of her recommendations to help me heal my fibroadenomas and benign breast tumor. I truly believe that solutions present themselves when we are ready to receive and implement them. And I was so ready.
Now the thing with herbal remedies is that they’re not a quick fix. They require patience, determination and faith. They are incredibly nourishing, supportive, healing and safe, however certain conditions do require caution. If you’re pregnant or on any kind of medication make sure to consult with a qualified herbalist. Many herbs will interact adversely with prescription drugs.
I’m not taking chickweed consistently as I noticed some skin reactions when I first started using it. It’s hard to know if this skin reaction was due to chickweed itself or something else I was consuming. The only way to find out would be a blood test. In the meantime, I’m continuing to strengthen the health of my gut and should be able to re-introduce these “problematic” foods and herbs in the near future. Listen to what your body is communicating with you. It’s guiding you towards health.

How To Consume
Infusion: 2-4 cups a day (500ml – 1L)
Tincture: 20 -100 drops a day in water
Fresh: if you’re lucky enough to have access to some fresh chickweed, it can be used in salads, and made as a fresh juice.
FYI
It may take up to a year for ovarian cysts to dissolve. Not sure about breast cysts. From my experience, expect to be taking herbal formulas for some time (minimum of 6 months) before you start seeing results (depending on your health issue).

Drink 2-4 cups a day depending on severity of the condition.
