The Endless Benefits of Essential Oils

“Essential oils are concentrated potent, plant energy.” Nadine Artemis

One of the simplest and most powerful natural tools. The benefits of essentials oils are endless. They’re not only antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-fungal but also reduce scars, heal blemishes, fight infections, can be used as household cleaner, boost focus,  intuition and mental acuity, reduce stress, improve insomnia and so on. There’s an endless selection and many of these oils have been used since Egyptian and roman times. Whatever you’re struggling with, there’s an oil for it.

One of the reasons why essential are so powerful is because of the powerful monoterpenes that they contain. Monoterpenes  help remove toxins, turn on protective genes, help the liver break down carcinogens, stimulate the lymphatic system and cell death, soothe pain, inflammation and encourage tissues to heal. Just to name a few.

Essential oils can be used in a number of ways. They can be inhaled, added to massage oils, skin, hair  and oral care products, used as a household cleaner in baths, diffusers and salt pipes.

Some oils are quite strong and can be irritating if applied directly to the skin. This is where you want to mix them with a carrier oil to reduce the likelihood of irritation. My favorite carrier is castor oil. It penetrates the skin on a deeper level and is also very healing and detoxifying.
