Body Care

  • Conventional deodorants, skincare products, toothpastes, floss, shampoos and makeup are loaded with toxic chemicals.  These chemicals which, when used consistently, accumulate in the delicate and very absorbent breast tissue.

  • Many of you have probably heard that the toxic chemicals found in our deodorants and antiperspirants are now being directly linked to cancerous breast tissue. 99% of breast cancer tissue has been shown to have parabens in it.  Most breast cancers, up to 50%, now occur in the upper outer quadrant  of the breast. The area closest to the armpit region and where most of the breast tissue is located.

  • Unfortunately, most drugstore and expensive department store brands contain numerous chemicals like parabens, petrolatum, talc and aluminium.  Aluminium is known to mimic estrogen and is used in antiperspirants to block the pores and prevent sweating. These chemicals accumulate in lymph nodes, glands and create a breeding ground for disease and hormonal imbalances.

  • The skin in very thin in the armpit region and anything that is put onto the skin in absorbed. Our armpits have their own microbial environment, which contain large amounts of beneficial bacteria that support our immune system and chemicals disrupt this natural intelligence.

  • If we’re using these toxic deodorants and antiperspirants on a daily basis, you can imagine the accumulation over the years.

  • When shopping for deodorants or antiperspirants don’t rely too much on the labels. Natural doesn’t mean much anymore and the term usually isn’t regulated. It’s important to read the ingredients (as with anything we’re consuming) and see what’s actually in it. Don’t be afraid to research the ingredients.  You’d be surprised how much crap is added to “Natural” products. This is where being scrupulous will greatly benefit your health.

  • Makeup for instance will block important UV rays from the sun, which will diminish your vitamin D levels. Which as you know by now, is an incredibly important nutrient for breast health.

Cleaning Products

  • Now the same can be said for any type of cleaning product we use: countertops, soaps, windows, laundry detergent, etc.  They’re also filled with similar endocrine disrupting chemicals. Now this isn’t usually the first area that most chose to clean up (pun intended), but if you are using these things on a regular basis it’s important to know what’s in these products and to find alternatives when you’re ready to do so.

  • You don’t have to buy all sorts of expensive organic cleaning products either. Fill an empty spray bottle with some apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil and water to wipe down and disinfect countertops, tables, showers, etc.  The simpler we can keep it, usually the better.

Bras

  • Doing something as simple as wearing our bras less often can have tremendous benefits for our breast health.

  • Our breasts are, as Nadine Artemis describes in Renegade Beauty, ” …are strapped down and pushed up… .” Getting your first bra was a right of passage, an initiation into womanhood. They’ve become synonymous with femininity yet block the breasts energy, detox mechanisms and natural essence.

  • There are times when wearing a bra is a must. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. The key is to realize when the bra in question might not be the best choice. For example if it leaves red marks after taking it off, this means that important lymph and blood circulation pathways are being restricted. After wearing bras for years, going braless (90% of the time) didn’t happen over night.  But the more I went without the better I started to feel. This is also important for women struggling with imbalances such as fibroadenomas, when the  lymph becomes restricted it increases cellular inflammation.

  • Wearing a bra for 12 hours or more or one that leaves red marks increases the number of lumps in breasts. If you’re dealing with any breast imbalances, cut down on wearing a bra. Many women have confirmed that this has helped them reduce their lumps.

Here are some important benefits that will truly help support your breast health:

  • May reduce breast lumpiness.

  • Improves immune response.

  • Improves lymphatic circulation and drainage.

  • Improves blood and nutrient circulation.

  • Increase the energy flow in the breasts.

  • Improves detoxification of breast tissue.

  • Reduces breast tenderness and pain.

  • Improves tone and firmness of breasts.
