My Tumor Is Healing
After five years, I’ve finally received the results I was hoping for: my tumor is shrinking. My fibroadenomas have been shrinking for the past two years but the tumor is really where I was hoping to see results.
It’s been one hell of a ride and I’m so thankful that my issues were never life threatening and am able to continue on my holistic path.
This journey has forced me to take my health into my own hands when I wanted to hand it over to someone else. It’s asked me to take a look at my life and examine my diet, my self talk, my self care or lack thereof, and take a hard look at why these imbalances were showing up.
Our health is our responsibility and no one else’s. Doctors, healers, herbalists and naturopaths are only here to guide us. The outcome truly rests in your hands. That’s a hard pill to swallow when you feel you’ve done everything but are not seeing results. This became very apparent to me after following an ayurvedic protocol for two years and during that second year stressing that it wouldn’t work. Guess what, it didn’t. I blamed Ayurveda, but in all honesty, the blame was mine to carry. This wonderful eastern philosophy was simply a guide and how I interpreted and used it was entirely up to me. This taught me was that no matter how healthy you eat, how many herbs you take, if you stress or don’t believe in yourself no protocol will work. It’s all energy.
I’m grateful for this path. I knew when I started that if I didn’t try, I’d regret it. There was a part of me that thought it would be so much easier to get the surgery and be done with it. But that would have only put a bandaid on a far larger wound. Getting to the root of our symptoms is how we heal. I’ve healed parts of me that I never thought needed healing (gut) and have experienced the miraculous healing powers of our bodies. There’s an intelligence that exists within each and everyone of us. Tap into it and watch miracles unfold.
If you’re pulled to work with someone, eat a certain food, buy a book, try an alternative healing method, do it! If you’re drawn to it, it’s because there’s something there for you.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to the store for a particular book or supplement and came out with something completely different, simply because I was so drawn to it. That book always had some new information (lately it’s been herbal) on how to heal my imbalance or that supplement provided me with the nourishment I instinctively needed. All paths lead to wellness. There isn’t one thing I’ve done that didn’t provide some form of healing. Listen to your body. It’s far more knowledgable than our minds give it credit for.
Letting go and surrendering have been huge lessons for me. An incredibly difficult task when you want to control the outcome. I’ve had to be honest with myself that there was a chance that I might not be able to achieve my desired results. That surgical intervention might be required and that was ok. I often asked myself, ok is this the year I have surgery? My body responded with great resistance and hesitation. Not yet. For as long as my tumor was benign, I was going to keep going. I’m a firm believer that whatever our bodies create, it can also heal. But to witness this truth is truly astonishing.
If you’re struggling with any health issues, the answer is out there. Sometimes it takes a shit ton of digging and perseverance to find it. I’ve done and tried so many different things that it’s almost impossible to know what exactly I’ve done that’s helped my tumor shrink. Maybe it’s a particular oil or maybe it’s a combination of things.
I’m going to venture into woo woo territory here for a second. Stay with me. Ask the universe (god, higher power, source energy, whatever you believe in or align with) to show you the books, podcasts, articles, teachers, and healers that will help and guide you. Try it! You have nothing to lose. You will be amazed by what shows up.
So I share with you my results, to be transparent and honest about where I’m at and to share with you this learning experience in the hopes that it inspires you know that you can do it too.
