SHATAVARI ROSE LATTE

Shatavari makes another appearance here in this late summer and fall recipe as a supportive rasayana, or rejuvenative substance, that can replenish your system and soothe pitta’s effects. Known as “The Queen of Herbs”, shatavari’s bitter and sweet tastes cool down an overheated and depleted body after a long summer. It’s also a wonderful reproductive tonic for both men and women through all stages of life.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups organic raw milk (or non-dairy milk of choice)

  • 1 tsp rosewater

  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup

  • ½ tsp shatavari powder

  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom

  • Optional: ½ tsp dried rose petals

Method

In a small saucepan, heat the milk. Transfer to a high-speed blender and combine the rosewater, shatavari, cardamom and sweetener. Blend until frothy. Pour into a mug and sprinkle with cardamom and dried rose petals to garnish. Sip hot.
