DIY Breast Oil

Homemade self care ritual

With everything going on, many of us are finding ourselves with more time on our hands and looking for fun and creative ways to stay inspired and healthy.  I’m a firm believer that you always have what you need.  So this DIY project is about working with what you’ve got at home. I’ve recently run out of many skin care products: facial oil, breast oil and tooth paste. Luckily, I’ve got quite a few staple ingredients that will allow me to create some replacements.

Most of us have some kind of oil and essential oil in our abode. Go through your kitchen cupboard, medicine cabinets and pull out anything you think you might be able to use.

There’s something so satisfying and empowering about creating your own products. I recently re-created, with a few added ingredients, one of my favourite toothpastes from Living Libations and it turned out so well.

Work with what you have at home or you can buy the ingredients that resonate with you the most.

OILS  |  Castor Oil, Olive, Sesame, Almond, Hemp, Jojoba, Calendula, St John’s Wort, Cumin Seed,

ESSENTIAL OILS | Frankincense, Laurel, Rosemary, Rose, Orange Blossom, Lavender, Grapefruit, Cypress, Chamomile, Yarrow, Ylang… anything else you might have. Do some research and learn the benefits of the essential oils you’re using and if they’re a good match for you.

BACH FLOWER REMEDIES  | Rescue Remedy or whatever flower remedy you’re currently using. Bach Flower Remedies can actually be used on the skin.

Other possible ingredients:

  • Liquid vitamin E
  • Magnesium Oil
  • Liquid iodine
  • Rose Water
  • Orange blossom water

You can also have a look at the breast oils in my Shop and see what ingredients are used for some inspiration.

  • If you’re unsure about an oil’s quality, best to stay away from it.
  • Let your intuition guide you. There’s a reason why you’re drawn to the things you’re drawn to. They are what you need.
  • Make sure the oils you’re using come in a dark glass container. Don’t use oils that come in plastic. They should be organic, extra virgin (olive), cold pressed (most oils), and hexane free (castor).
  • Make your oil while listening to some healing sound waves  to amplify it’s healing effects.

Use a dark glass container to store your oil in. If the container you have isn’t dark just make sure it’s stays out of the heat and sunlight.

If you don’t have any containers, you can create the oil on a daily basis which might seem like a lot but it’s what I’ve been doing and it’s a nice little ritual. I like to create a nice and relaxing ambience with some candles, music, incense and then choose my ingredients. I use a small ceramic bowl to mix my ingredients and then set an intention. It’s really quite quick and a wonderful way to nurture yourself. It also allows you to play with different formulas and see what you enjoy most. Once you find a formula you enjoy, you can then make a larger quantity and bottle it up.

The breast oil is wonderful after doing a BREASTMASK and a wonderful addition to a lymphatic breast massage.

The more consistently you use this oil or any other breast oil, the better the results with be.

  • Detoxifies breast tissue.
  • Nourishes tissue with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
  • Helps decongest and boost lymph  circulation
  • Promotes peace, calm, self love and nurturing
  • Helps release stress, grief, worry, fear and anxiety from breasts and heart center
  • Helps bring warmth and relaxation to your whole being
  • Improves blood circulation
  • Helps clear toxins
  • Incredibly healing for anyone suffering from breast imbalances such as cysts, pain, fibroadenomas, tumors, inflammation, mastitis, pain, swelling, tenderness, etc.

Lastly, set an intention as you make and/or use the oil.

  • Every cell in my breasts is healed and divinely healthy
  • It’s easy to love and nurture myself
  • I give and receive in equal balance
  • My breasts are healed and mirror divine health
  • I love myself

Direct The Medicine

When medicine is taken internally and applied externally, this tells the body where to focus the medicine. This applies mostly for herbs. If you’re considering taking essential oils internally, work with a qualified practitioner.  For example, whichever Bach remedy you’re using in your oil, take internally as well. You can also apply this concept to herbs, iodine, magnesium, etc,
